CFC-11 Panic: Scientists fright about the emission of CFC into the atmosphere

Scientists are in shock as they get to know that humongous amount of greenhouse gas is been infused with the atmosphere. The source has been tracked down to the location in East Asia.

All countries have been ordered not to use or produce any CFC’s since it depletes ozone layer which is responsible for our protection from harmful sun rays. CFC’s are one dangerous gas since they take time to completely go away and can remain for as long as 100 years.

CFC’s are responsible for many diseases and they are the major reasons for warming up the earth’s atmospheric temperature. The emission of this gas are mainly from refrigerators, air conditioners since they emit chlorine, fluorine and carbon dioxide somewhat a mixture of these gases result in the formation of CFC’s.

According to Paul Newman, an atmospheric scientist and co-chair of the Montreal Protocol’s Scientific Assessment Panel, scientists around the world are digging to figure it out the current location of CFC’s emission.

Montzaka’s research challenge governments to hold themselves accountable.

Many groups of researchers are currently investigating and trying to find out the CFC-11 area of emission. The data surrounding the map has been shared with everyone.

Scientists from some of the major countries like U.S., Australia, Canada, China, South Korea, and various other countries also have air monitoring programs.

Some monitoring stations have been buried deep down in Area like Barrow, Alaska and Antarctica pole. These stations are linear to one another.

Measuring the CFC-11 is a hell of a task not like finding a missing pet in a small town. Air is sucked using a pump from the atmosphere and then it got the transfer to the lab using a canister.

Thereafter where researchers use gas to excite the individual molecules and then sort them by mass and volatility by shooting them with electrons.

Newman said that ” in a year or two the source of emission would find out but it would take more than what it seems and some risks are also involved it”

If all the countries put their best technology and strategies then there are chances that it can be found earlier than anticipated time.
