Ozone layer kept us protected from millions of years but from last several years, there has been a report of a hole in Ozone that kept us worrying about the future as it is getting bigger day by day.
This is regarded as one of the prime reasons which are leading to global warming.
The depletion of ozone layer is a warning sign for every living being on earth because of UV rays that are very dangerous and it directly affects the cell’s DNA that can cause skin cancer and other eyes problems.
Even Antarctica has faced this horror once because of the chemical exposure but the hole there has been being reducing in size since the root problem is total to abolish i.e. use of harmful chemicals responsible for the cause were banned by the Montreal protocol.
The ozone layer acts as a protective barrier and it wraps around the entire earth but according to latest research the lower altitudes with dense population are at risk and these areas are more prone to the depletion as the hole doesn’t seem to recover its actually growing bigger day by day.
In the 1970s, it was discovered that the main reason behind this cause is chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) used in refrigeration and aerosols were the main cause of ozone reduction in the stratosphere.
Though, Scientists aren’t sure about the main reasons behind the depletion as there were many speculations made by researcher’s one reason may be the shift in atmospheric patterns caused by climate change which shifted the ozone away from its root area.
Stratosphere stretches out between 10 km and 50 km from the surface of the earth the harmful chemical gasses or substance released from industries are carried by atmospheric circulation to the area of ozone region.
One reason may be the short-lived substances (VSLSs) from industrial chemicals could be to blame. Guess they took more than anticipated time.
On the other hand, it came as shocking news for many scientists since the present atmospheric circulation models didn’t detect any kind of consequence and turn out to be crystal clear.
