Mediterranean Diet May Boost IVF chances And helps women in becoming pregnant

Well, this is rare topic to discuss but women who don’t grow enough hormones to give birth are supposedly found to follow Mediterranean Diet that may Boost IVF chances or precisely this diet helps women in becoming pregnant.

You may have noticed the scientific term “IVF” it actually stands for vitro fertilization in which women eggs are mixed with men’s sperm. The whole procedure of fertilization takes place outside the body.

Mediterranean Diet is composed of various natural food ingredients that people used to take every day but women aren’t aware. It is found that those who ate more fresh vegetables, fish or olive oil fruit, whole grains, less red meat, and legumes had 65-68 percent greater chances of achieving a successful pregnancy.

A study took place in Athens, Greece in which 244 women’s are subjected to Mediterranean Diet six months before IVF, were more likely give birth to a healthy baby. The women’s were of all age categories from 22-41.

The diet varies with women’s age and it is advised by doctor’s not only older women but younger women who might opt IV5 should follow Mediterranean diet.




A research was based on these 244 women after conveying the Mediterranean Diet info to everyone the results gave the women a MedDiet Score, which ranged from 0-55 with higher scores indicating greater adherence to the Mediterranean diet.

The women Age varied between 22 to 41 were found to physically fit and free from any dangerous disease.
Women’s were divided based on their med diet score: The first group ended up scoring between 18-30, the second scored between 31-35 and the last one scored between 36 to 47.

Comparison results were quite obvious as 86 women who belong to the highest scoring group have remarkably lower rates of pregnancy to 79 women in the lowest scoring group.

End results were composed and Overall 229 women had at least one embryo transferred to their wombs; 138 (56 percent) had a successful implantation; 42.6 percent means 104 women achieved a clinical pregnancy and 99 women gave birth to a live baby.
